Cinnamon Rolls

Time:
Prep: 20 minutes, Rise: 1 hour, Bake: 18–22 minutes
Total: ~1 hour 40 minutes

Serves: 10–12 rolls

Ingredients

For the dough:
– 3 cups all-purpose flour
– 2¼ tsp instant yeast (1 sachet)
– ¼ cup sugar
– ½ tsp salt
– ¾ cup warm milk
– ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
– 1 large egg

For the cinnamon filling:
– ½ cup brown sugar
– 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
– ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened

For the glaze (optional):
– 1 cup powdered sugar
– 2–3 tbsp milk
– ½ tsp vanilla extract

Method

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Knead until soft and smooth.
    2. Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
    3. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon for the filling.
    4. Roll dough into a rectangle, spread butter, and sprinkle cinnamon sugar evenly.
    5. Roll tightly, slice into 10–12 rolls, and place in a greased baking dish.
    6. Cover and let rise again for 20 minutes.
    7. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake for 18–22 minutes until golden.
    8. Mix glaze ingredients and drizzle over warm rolls. Serve.
