South African Chakalaka (Vegetable Relish)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup baked beans
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt & mild chili (optional)

Method

  1. Heat oil and sauté onion until soft.
  2. Add carrot and pepper; cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in baked beans and chili if using.
  4. Simmer gently and adjust seasoning.
