Golden Fried Plantain

Sweet, golden, and beautifully caramelized, fried plantain is a beloved side dish across many cultures. It pairs perfectly with savory meals or can be enjoyed on its own as a simple treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe plantains (yellow with black spots)
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil for frying
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Method

  1. Peel plantains and slice diagonally into medium pieces.
  2. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  3. Fry plantain slices for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  4. Remove and drain on paper towel.
  5. Sprinkle lightly with salt if desired and serve warm.

Cooking Time: 10 minutes
