Ethiopian Lentil Stew (Misir Wot – Mild)

Ingredients:

Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 1 cup red lentils, rinsed
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt to taste

Method

  1. Heat oil and sauté onion until golden.
  2. Add garlic and paprika, stirring briefly.
  3. Add lentils and 3 cups of water.
  4. Simmer until lentils are soft and thick.
  5. Season and serve warm.
