Spiced Ginger Croissant

Serves: 4 croissants
Ingredients
– 4 plain butter croissants (fresh or day-old)
– 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
– 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
– 1 tsp fresh ginger, finely grated
– ½ tsp ground ginger
– ¼ tsp cinnamon
– Pinch of nutmeg (optional)
– 1 tsp brown sugar (optional)
– Powdered sugar or honey drizzle (optional, for finishing)
Method
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
2. In a bowl, mix melted butter, honey, fresh ginger, ground ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar.
3. Place croissants on tray and lightly slice the top (do not cut through).
4. Brush ginger glaze generously over and slightly inside croissants.
5. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden and fragrant.
6. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle honey. Serve warm.
